    what is the season in Dizin? Meaning, how long are lifts operating there? I’ll be in Iran mid-end of April…

    Gunther, the season in Dizin is normally until May. Good luck, let me know how the conditions are in April.

    I would assume February/March. I was there in February last year and it was excelent. Lots of powder snow. One day it snowed so much the pist was closed and the hotel lost electricity.

    Great blog, we are visiting Iran first week in FEB, my partner and I are not married yet. Will it be an issue? Can she enter Iran as a single female? regards

    Shaun: should not be a big problem. But I would suggest to wear a wedding ring and say you are married. That will make it easier to book a room together. Off course a single female can enter Iran! But if she is your partner I would assume she is not single though ;)

    I met many female travelers in Iran, some of them travelled by themselves without any problems. Women are not treated as in some notorius tourists areas of Turkey and Egypt. Enjoy your trip.

    Hi Espen – and thanks for this great site! I’m a snowboarder as well and now I’m considering a trip to Dizin to ride some powder. From the videos I’ve seen, it looks like you can reach a lot of powder just through the lifts. Do you know if it is possible to go up with cats or helicopters as well, to reach even more, unspoilt, powder?? :)
